Lullaby Ballad
A long and lazy summer day
All dusted gold with sand,
When treasure is discovered, clutched
Inside a tiny hand.
When sticky smiles stretch out for miles
On faces, pink and round,
And laughter bounces off the walls -
A pure and perfect sound.
When tired eyes resist the pull
Of sweet and tender rest,
And fusses are forgiven, for
Each boy has tried his best.
When darkness drapes across the sky
And wrestles with the light,
Til day folds up its tired wings
And nestles into night.

I especially loved this one, Christi — I think all mothers identify. You are a talented lady. (although to me you will always be a young girl — so how can you raise three
boys?)
Thanks so much, Donna. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
